BJP released the manifesto on Friday (May 4th) for the Karnataka assembly elections. On the formation of government in the state, the party promised to allocate 1.5 lakh crores of rupees for irrigation projects and forgive the agricultural debt of Rs one lakh rupees from nationalized and cooperative banks. In the manifesto issued by BJP chief and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa, it said that if the party comes to power, it will bring a 'white paper' about the state's economic status in the Congress rule. At the same time, the BJP's manifesto promises to forgive agricultural loans of up to Rs one lakh rupees from nationalized and cooperative banks.

BJP MP Shobha Karandlaj, while describing the manifesto as "vision letter", said that it has given place to the aspirations and expectations of the people. He said that the announcement  prepared after consultation with more than three lakh people and experts. There will be elections for the 224-member state assembly on May 12. Counting of votes will be 15.

BJP's manifesto in Karnataka 'Jumalafesto': Congress

On the other hand Congress on Friday (May 4th) termed the declaration issued by the BJP for the Karnataka assembly elections as "JumbleFesto" and said that the public would not believe in 'this pillar of lies'. Shortly after the BJP's manifesto released, Congress chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala tweeted that BJP's manifesto in Karnataka is a mix of 2014's Modi manifesto and 'Yeddy Reddy's 2018 declaration'.

Significantly, Congress uses the term 'Yeddy-Reddy' to refer to the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa and Reddy brothers. Sureshwala alleged, "This is Jullafesto and lies of a lie." He said, "No price of the promise, no words on the promise, the slip of the lost land of the BJP."
