Many Opposition parties were accus of bringing the Bill in the Lok Sabha elections keeping in view the bill.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, while interfering in the discussion in the bill, terming the allegation of the opposition as ‘categorical’, said that it will remain in judicial review as it has been amended in Article 14 and 15 of the Constitution through this bill. He said that the basic preamble of the Constitution has been given to give equal opportunity for the development of all the citizens and this bill fulfills the same goal.

Jaitley said that various parties, including the Congress, in their manifesto promised in this regard that the reservation for the poor of the unarmed category would be provide. He asked the opposition parties to leave the complaint-and support it with “big heart” to support this bill. Congress leader K. V. Thomas termed this bill as an exercise to bring haste in the wake of Lok Sabha elections and said that there are legal errors in it. He also said that his party supports the concept of Bill.

Ram Vilas Paswan

Union Minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan welcomed it and said that the bill should be put in the ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
