Food adulteration, adultery, life imprisonment, government is bringing new law

The government is now preparing to deal with the adulterants strictly. Those who tasted food and beverages life imprisoned. The food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has proposed to make a change in the Food Security Act. In order to deal with adulterants, the proposal of FSSAI has recommended life imprisonment for adulterants. In this proposal, the punishment of adulteration from 7 years to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh also recommended.

Let us tell you that there is a provision of life imprisonment only after death by adulteration. Exporters will now also come under the purview of Food Security Act. At present, food security laws are not applicable to exporters.

According to the new draft, the new law will soon be available to the exporters. At present, food security laws do not apply to them. In the new law, the responsibility of those who import food items also decided. No action  taken yet on these. According to the draft, the definition of consumer  also change and animals’ food items  also covered under the law.



The report given in five days- The government has taken another important step to promote food safety. Under this, the labs who examine food items will have to submit their report within five days. If there is any chemical or food for beverages or bacteria in it, then it should be reported in maximum 10 days. This order of FSSAI is expected to help in retaining food safety.
